Pamukkale Salda Tour

After leaving Antalya, you will be picked up by a comfortable bus and driven to the old town of Korkuteli, nestled among the Taurus Mountains. In one of the facilities in this historic town, you can enjoy a traditional Turkish breakfast. After a delicious breakfast, you will travel to an incredible natural wonder, Pamukkale, the world’s eighth wonder. The snow-white travertines, a unique natural phenomenon found only in Turkey and designated as a UNESCO World Heritage Site, will be visible. These are natural pools of thermal water that rise one above the other like steps. On the territory of this region are the ruins of the ancient city of Hierapolis, the famous ancient Cleopatra Pool and real Roman baths. 

You’ll see the ancient city of Hierapolis and its massive amphitheater. You can walk through the ancient city’s well-preserved streets and see the authentic Roman baths. Admire the Roman Empire architecture’s majestic columns. Your guide will explain the history of Hierapolis and Cleopatra’s famous healing pool. You can swim in the mineral waters of this pool, which maintains a temperature of 36 degrees all year. This pool is thought to be a source of both beauty and health. Cleopatra was known to frequent this health spa in order to maintain her youth and beauty. You will arrive at the magnificent Salda Lake after approximately 3.5 hours in this area. Its white beaches and incredible azure water will astound you. Salda Lake is Turkey’s deepest and cleanest lake. It is 184 meters deep and was formed approximately 2 million years ago. Surprisingly, the rocks surrounding the lake contain magnesite and magnesium, both of which are found on Mars. Only two places on Earth have these space elements: Lake Salda and the Maldives. Lake Salda is called the Turkish Maldives because it has many similarities to the Maldives Islands. For example, it has a lot of geological features like the Maldives Islands do. Additionally, the clay near the shores of the lake is very healing and does not have a strong smell. You can try this out for yourself by visiting the clay reservoir next to the lake.You can also swim in the crystal clear lake. If you don’t want to swim in the lake, you can walk along the snow-white beach. You will have time not only to enjoy the beautiful views, but also to take beautiful photos.   After your free time here is over, you will take our bus back and stop again in Korkuteli town for dinner. After a delicious meal, our return journey will continue from where we left off and this wonderful tour will end when we arrive at your accommodation.

-You can bring food for breakfast and eat it in Korkuteli, our first stop. You can also have a snack with you as it is a long day.

-Salda Lake is located 1193 meters above sea level and its water is quite cool and sweet.

-The ruins of the ancient city of Hierapolis are scattered over a wide area. Temples, fountains, Roman gates, gymnasiums, ancient Roman baths, Pluto Cave, Temple of Apollo, Triton Fountain, the agora of Hierapolis, a giant amphitheater will draw you into the ancient past of the Roman empire.

-Wealthy people from all over the Roman Empire used to come to the hot springs in the area for treatment and if they died, they were buried here according to the customs of their hometowns. Hierapolis therefore has a wide variety of tombstones and monuments.
